Fall 2005 Volunteer Trainings in Southfield and
Grand Rapids - Gift of Life volunteers participated in a one day seminar to learn techniques to promote the importance of organ and tissue donation in their community by sharing their story and encouraging others to sign up on the Michigan Organ Donor Registry.

This training session is invaluable to those who wish to speak publicly about donation and transplantation, and is also very helpful for people who prefer to educate the public one-on-one at health fairs and information tables.

Each new volunteer who attends a training session will be given a "Volunteer Manual," full of facts, figures, answers to common questions and hints for effective public speaking.

You will learn:

  • Who can become a donor?
  • What is Gift of Life Michigan?
  • What is the Donor Registry?
  • How to talk to the public about donation
  • New! Show Us Your Heart campaign
  • Materials available for distribution
  • Upcoming volunteer opportunities in your area
