Tri for Life Triathlon Team
The Coleman family is on the run! They are Trevor, Brandon, and Lon Coleman - three brothers - running in honor of their younger brother, Chase, who
past away in May 2003 due to a car accident near his hometown of Millington, MI. Chase was only 20 years old when he gave the gift of life, donating
his organs and tissues to help save others. In his memory, the Coleman brothers have come together to remember their beloved brother Chase, and also
to raise awareness of the critical shortage of organs available for transplant. As Chase was an avid cyclist, they are honoring the sport he loved by
forming a triathlon team, which always includes cycling, to spread the message of donation. They have named their team, Tri for Life, and plan to
visit all 50 states to encourage others to sign up to become a donor in their state. For more information or to find a triathlon near you where they
will be competing, please visit: www.donatelifetriathlon.com
Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land bestows the Shining Star award each year for
outstanding work in promoting organ donation.
